You'll Never Walk Alone
What is the Hillsborough Disaster?
The Hillsborough disaster was a deadly human crush that occurred on April 15, 1989, at Hillsborough, a football stadium in Sheffield, England that claimed the lives of 96 LFC Supporters and the physical and mental injury of countless others.
The inquiry into the disaster, the Taylor Report, named the cause as failure of police control, and resulted in the conversion of many football stadiums in the United Kingdom to all-seater and the removal of barriers at the front of stands.

Hillsborough Justice Campaign
The Hillsborough Justice Campaign was formed in response to the belief of a substantial number of people who were involved in the disaster, that after more than nine years and having many judicial decisions ruled against them, a fresh approach was needed in the fight to achieve proper Justice. The Constitution of the membership is reflected in the Group's name and it follows that the Organisation is broad-based.
- The aims and objectives of the HJC are as follows:
-
To pursue Justice for those 96 people who died in the Hillsborough Stadium Disaster of 1989, the bereaved Families, the Survivors who came perilously close to dying in Pens 3 and 4 and those unfortunate people still suffering from the ensuing trauma of the Disaster.
- To recruit members to the Organisation for the purpose of raising support for the Justice Campaign.
- To raise funds for the furtherance of the Justice Campaign.

The fight for justice for the 96 remains the fundamental aim of the HJC. However, over the years the group has adapted to a variety of demands and situations. For details of the evolving role of the organization, please read more about the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.
