Reina talks about Title Determination

Pepe Reina says that Rafa Benitez 'will break his own head' to find a way to win the Premier League title for Liverpool.

The Spanish goalkeeper admits that the championship is the Reds' priority this season and says he would happily exit the Champions League if a Premier League title was guaranteed.

"I know Rafa well and he will break his own head to find a solution to get the title for Liverpool," said Reina. "He has the experience of three seasons in England now and knows more of what is required.

"We are all aware of how desperate the fans are to win the championship. After 18 years without doing so, for a club like Liverpool, that's only normal.

"We all wish to give them that chance to celebrate the title after so long. It's our biggest target for the season."

CL Group Stage: Marseille Buildup

Liverpool prepare for a return to Champions League action knowing that goalkeeper Jose Reina is in the form of his life.

The Spanish international achieved his fifth clean sheet of the season in Saturday's 1-0 win over Wigan - equaling a 30-year-old club record for the best defensive start to the season. And with Liverpool now awaiting the arrival of Marseille and former player Djibril Cisse for Tuesday's Champions League group match at Anfield, such solidity is a massive boost for manager Rafael Benitez.

Liverpool, unbeaten this season in all competitions, need to build on their fortunate 1-1 draw at Porto last month to put themselves on track for qualification from the group stages, with Benitez believing 10 points should do it.

Reina signs new contract

Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina has signed a new contract that keeps him at the club until 2012.

The 25-year-old follows Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, who signed new deals earlier in the week.

'It was always my wish to sign a new deal because this is a good club which is looking forward to a very ambitious and attractive project,' said Reina.

Spain international Reina joined Liverpool from Primera Liga side Villarreal for £6m in July 2005.

Long-term deal for Reina?

Jose Reina has spoken of his desire to sign a new long-term contract after admitting he is 'happy' at Anfield.

The Spanish goalkeeper is ready to sit down with club officials in the summer and discuss a deal to extend his stay on Merseyside.

Although Reina has two years remaining on his present contract, Reds manager Rafael Benitez has already indicated a desire to reach a new agreement with the 24 year-old to head off interest from Valencia.
