Former Liverpool star Jan Molby feels selling midfielder Xabi Alonso would be a great loss to the Anfield side.

Alonso struggled for form and fitness last season and has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks.

Molby told BBC Radio Merseyside that the Spanish International could still have a pivotal role to play at Anfield.
