Steven Gerrard has indicated to England coach Steve McClaren he would be willing to have pain-killing injections to get him through next week's crucial Euro 2008 double-header against Israel and Russia.

Gerrard will not play for Liverpool against Derby at Anfield on Saturday but will join up with the England squad.
