Liverpool sweat through 2nd Half to Win
Liverpool survived a second-half fightback to beat visitors Galatasaray 3-2 in Champions League Group C, with Peter Crouch bagging a brace.
Anfield joy had turned to nervousness in the second half as Umit Karan first headed in a cross to reduce the deficit, then scored another on a right-wing cross from the dangerous Sabri Sarioglu six minutes later.
Coming into this game Galatasaray had won only two of their last 19 Champions League away matches, but there was little sign of that indifferent away form as they mounted a remarkable comeback having gone three goals behind.
With the win, Liverpool are now on top of the Group C table.
