Plans for Liverpool's new stadium moved a step closer on Thursday after £9million of European funding was confirmed. The Objective One money will be used to regenerate community facilities in the Anfield area and is an integral part of the scheme.

The decision to award the Reds the money was made at a meeting at the Cunard building in Liverpool after the club guaranteed £160 million funding for the entire project was in place. How? Well that we don't know... yet.
