England wins; Sweden Ties in First Group B Matches

England won their Group B opener in Frankfurt thanks to a third-minute Paraguay own goal during a half which England dominated. It was a different story in the second half as Paraguay threatened more as a cautious England put themselves under unnecessary pressure.

And although England supporters might have been cautiously pleased with the win, Trinidad and Tobago's draw with Sweden was certainly well received. T&T held the Swedes scoreless, despite playing the second half with ten men.

England staff have asked FIFA to ensure players get greater access to fluids during games after they suffered in the Frankfurt heat against Paraguay - having consumed 70 liters in Germany's heat as opposed to a norm of 20
liters.
