Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse will miss the World Cup after being carried off with a broken leg in France's friendly against China.

The 24-year-old was chasing the ball down the right flank 10 minutes into the game and was knocked off balance by an opposing defender.As he fell, his right leg twisted under him and buckled above the ankle, as Reds will know Cisse broke his left leg while playing for the club in October 2004.
