LFC Striker Fernando Morientes has been left out of Spain's World Cup squad.

The Liverpool forward had been named in his country's provisional squad but was one of four players cut by coach Luis Aragones in the 23-man selection.

English-based Xabi Alonso, Jose Reyes, Cesc Fabregas, Asier Del Horno, Luis Garcia and Jose Reina were included.
