Fowler set to Stay

Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler will sign a new one-year contract to stay at Anfield next week.

The 30-year-old was on a short-term deal after joining on a free from Manchester City in January.

'This is fantastic news,' said manager Rafael Benitez. 'Robbie has done really well and he deserves this.'

Speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv at Melwood, Fowler said: "It's not signed yet but you can imagine how happy I was when the manager offered me another year. I can't put my feelings into words, this is something I have wanted for a long time.
