According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun is a summer target of Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez after his outstanding FA Cup final performance.

Benayoun cost West Ham 2.5m last summer - and they would demand more than double that for the Israeli, with 'sources' saying that the midfielder would cost Liverpool 6m.

Should Benitez decide to move for the man who gave his team such a torrid time in the final, however, that would not present a problem, with the Spaniard currently sitting on a transfer war-chest of 20m.

Benayoun can play wide on both flanks or as an attacking central midfielder, and it is thought that Benitez would use him on the right and move Steven Gerrard back into the middle of midfield.
